So camp is coming, everyone is getting excited, but before we get there you will need to make sure you pack a few things to make sure that you get the most out of the camp!

STUFF TO BRING
*Bedding Bits: Pillows, sheets and blankets / sleeping bag.
*Toiletries: All the stuff you need to keep yourself clean in a bathroom, etc. (you may want some thongs for the shared showers)
*Swimming gear: Togs, towl.
*Sun Protection Gear: Sunscreen, hat, sunnies and a water bottle to prevent you getting dehydrated.
*Bible Study Stuff: Bible, pen and paper if you want.
*Clothes and stuff: Enough for three days and three nights, with an extra spare set not being a bad idea. Even though it is summer, including at least a jumper or something for if it is cold would be good too. Make sure you bring some enclosed footware.
*Rain Gear: Umbrella or rain coat in case it’s wet, um…what else will I need???
*Money: A little bit could be helpful for the odd drink or Icecream could be helpful, more depending on what activities your group chooses to do.
*Any other bits: Some attendees like to bring something to make music (instrument, etc)

STUFF TO LEAVE AT HOME
*Cups, plates, food: These are all provided!
*Expensive things: Both dorms and bungalows will be shared accomodation so we cannot guarantee the security of anything people bring along. (laptops, iPads, jewelry, etc)
*Very Loud things: As cool as it can be to share your music with the whole campsite, those in your neighbouring dorms may not appreciate it when they are trying to get to sleep (speakers, etc)

CHECKIN and CHECKOUT
So you will need to organise your own transport to Summer Madness. If you are coming as part of a group, this may be being organised by your group leader.

Checkin will be open from 5:30pm on Friday, with the opening rally starting at 7:30pm. THERE WON’T BE ANY DINNER ON FRIDAY NIGHT, so make sure you plan to get something on the way or get some fish & chips down at the beach

The camp will finish before Lunch on Monday. THERE IS NO LUNCH ON MONDAY, you will need to pick something up on the way home

If you plan to be arriving late and have not already indicated this on your form, please let me know.

SATURDAY NIGHT OPEN WORSHIP
With only a week to go this is also a good time to remind you all of our open worship on Saturday night!

If you know some who are unable to come for the whole week, we have good news! Our Saturday night rally will be open others to attend. The night will feature a message from our keynote speaker as well as music and sharing from Remember Seven!

The cost is $20 per person and you can pay at the door. (or online beforehand athttps://sm2012open.eventarc.com/2935/sm2012-open-worship-night)

Other than that keep praying for the event, those who are attending and especially for those working to bring it all together.

Seeing as things can get really busy over Christmas and the New Year, we have decided to extend registration until Friday the 6th of January! This is great news as it means there is still time to make sure your friends are registered or to invite someone else to come along with you.

You register online, instantly guaranteeing you a place in what is shaping up to be a fantastic camp. Spaces are limited (especially for Bungalow Accomodation) so don’t leave it until it is too late.

Now is also the time to start getting your group together (or start bugging your youth leader) if you want to go as a group.

All the resources you need for this can be found here and we will start info packs (complete with posters and post cards) out to churches after the school holidays.

The theme for SM2012 is Ignition. Ultimately, the things that drive us will shape the way we serve God as a followers of Jesus. Because of this, we will be looking at finding your passion, freeing it, and feeding it!

Our Keynote speaker for the weekend will be Shane Claiborne and he will be speaking at the evening rallies. Our Bible study leaders will be locals from around the state who will look helping us to explore the faith and look at different ways we can live out our faith in Jesus.

As usual, there will be great worship throughout the conference. Our feature band Remember 7 will be providing music, worship and stories of way that they stepped out in faith and turned their passion and talent into something which serves Christ both here and overseas.

All of this happening right in the middle of Summer on Queensland’s Sunshine coast!
