Rego Cancellations
Refunds of registration fees are avaliable until the 1/11/2010, less an admin fee $40. Refunds will be issued by cheque and should be recieved within two weeks after a cancellation has been confirmed.
Cancellation requests are to be emailed to admin@summermadness.com.au
Rego Transfers
Registrations are transferrable free of charge. If you can no longer attend SM2012, but can find someone else to take your place, simply forward the details of the replacement attendee, as well as the attendee who will no longer be attending, to admin@summermadness.com.au
Will our leaders require a Blue Card?
Yes, in Queensland the Commission for Children and Young People Act 2000 requires people who work with children (young people under 18 years of age) in certain categories of paid or voluntary employment to undergo a criminal history check – the working with children check or Blue Card. Can we send young people without leaders?
If you are coming as an individual or your church/group is sending less than 5 members, it should be fine.
The Uniting Church in Australia-Qld Synod Child Safe Church Policy suggests a ratio of 1 leader for every 6 children/young people (with an appropriate gender balance when the group involves young people of both genders). We ask you to value this commitment for both the physical and pastoral care of your young people.
For groups we would ask that you send leaders along to match this ratio. If your church has more young adults/leaders who are willing to come than your group requires, that helps us to be flexible for to accommodate under 18′s who don’t come as part of a group.
Can young adults old come?
Young adults can be involved in Summer Madness, with their contribution being especially valuable if their church/group will have students attending. There is a fabulous opportunity to develop skills in service and to offer support to the camp in a variety of ways, eg tech team, set up, first aid, hosting and pack up etc.
